Business Acumen

Business Acumen, CEO’s, executives and leaders in their own field are making sure that they get the best performance results from their endeavours. Getting a Business Coach is proving so rewarding that it is only just behind IT as the fastest growing industry in the western world.

It entails a combination of the following:

Partner – Someone to accompany you on your journey, sharing and understanding your commitment. Shared experiences are invaluable for self-expression, self-esteem and mutual understanding.

Confidant – A person you trust and have faith in. How many people do you know that come into this category?

Mentor – someone who not only believes in you but can help you to create a vision and set big goals. Mentor with a capital M was the original guide and adviser to the young Telemachus in ancient Greece. A mentor is an experienced and trusted counsellor.

Manager – One who helps to set strategies with deadlines to remain focused and stay on track.

Personal Trainer – Supports your agreed actions and pushes to achieve more than you would on your own.

Sports Coach – A small adjustment to your performance might make a huge difference. Great performers have benefitted from adopting skills and techniques after being coached. Simple calibrations can result in improvement, and these can be offered by a coach who sees the areas for specific attention.

Friend – There’s no point getting to the top of SUCCESS Mountain and having no one to share it with. The friendly coach is someone with whom to celebrate your success. A gifted coach brings all the qualities of a true friend to your side, providing everything that he or she would offer.

Quite a combination to have at your disposal, wouldn’t you agree? The power of that mix in a supporting role providing encouragement and belief in you can be dynamic.

So, what about your goals… what areas… what do you think you could achieve with somebody to nag you on a regular basis? How would you like to change? What patterns do you have in your make-up that keep getting in the way of personal achievement? A great coach is intuitive and gains insights into formed habits that can be broken, or unlearned, with constructive observation offered for the client to choose whether to change or not.

People have all sorts of goals, and in many areas: business, career, social, personal, spiritual, emotional, family, private, education, health and fitness and so on, and these can be achieved or certainly started on in the short term, say three to four months.

The need is there… are you prepared to satisfy that need? I certainly was many years ago when, as a little boy I was consistently encouraged by an elderly caring neighbour who offered kindness, admiration and expectation. She’d tell me how I would be good at sport, how the scouts could look forward to having a brilliant patrol leader; how I would stand out in any crowd because of my potential. Not necessarily because of her words did these things come to pass, yet they did happen with many other auto suggestions, on reflection. She was my inspiration and sowed many seeds in my mind. Thank you, Mrs. Bedford!

If your need is there, let John Mulvey help you.
